Randy worked primarily in black and white photography and design over the course of his life. He traveled into New York City weekly for art and design classes in the years before his death, branching out into other media, finding particular enjoyment and honing his abilities in holographic portraiture.

On his trips into the city he compiled an catalogue of photographs that reveals his perspective as an artist and a person: one who saw movement in stillness, who saw shape in shadow and void, who celebrated quiet humanity within the city.

An intensely private person, Randy was growing more comfortable sharing his work with the world in the months before he died. He was actively taking steps to become a working artist, intent on supporting himself with his creative vision. He began referring to his vocation as “maker.”

We hope you enjoy these samples of his artwork. If you are interested in seeing more, or showing or purchasing prints of Randy’s work, please contact the Prices at maker@rpmfund.org.
